Flange Standards:
SAE J518 defines a half flange as a split flange with four holes, conforming to BS ISO 6162-1 / 2: 2012 for clamping flanges when installed in a hydraulic system. Flange clamp connections are of two types: split flange clamps and non-split flange clamps.
Two series for working pressure and size:
- SAE J518, code 61 and ISO 6162-1 specify flange connectors, ports and mounting surfaces for use at pressures from 3.5 MPa (35 bar) to 35 MPa (350 bar), DN 13 to DN 127.
- SAE J518, Code 62 and ISO 6162-2 specify flange connectors, ports and mounting surfaces for use at pressures of 42 MPa (420 bar), DN 13 to DN 76.
