Flanges for VFD can be categorized into two types – light series SFL SAE 3000 psi and heavy series SFS SAE 6000 psi. These types of fittings are manufactured in accordance with SAE J518, DIN ISO 12151-3 (ISO 6162-1 and ISO 6162-2), DIN 20078, DIN 20066. There is also SUPERCAT flange, which is used only on Caterpillar equipment.

The SFS flange differs from the SFL flange by the diameter of the connecting part. At the flange SFS this diameter is larger. Flange connections were originally intended for connection to hydraulic pumps, now this type is used on heavy, quarry equipment, where there are used ultra-high pressures, there are increased vibrations and there is a risk of disconnection.

The SF flanges can be used with various RVDs, both coiled and braided with diameters from 12 to 50 mm. The sealing is realized by means of an O-ring located on the end part of the flange, which is pressed to the mating part with brackets. Bolts ensure a strong connection and a secure fit.
