The ORFS fitting is most often found on American equipment, in our opinion – it is the most reliable type of connection. The fitting has a one-inch UNF thread and is sealed by a rubber O-ring located on the flat surface of the fitting end. ORFS fittings are also used in pipe connections to connect rigid pipe by pre-collapsing the hydraulic pipe at an angle of 90°.

Use of ORFS fittings

This type of fitting is most commonly used in the mining industry, on very high-pressure machinery and where leakage-free operation is a critical requirement for the hydraulic system.

The ORFS fitting has a cylindrical thread and an elastomeric sealing ring at the end of the fitting.

ORFS with coupling nut also has a cylindrical thread, sealing is achieved by compressing the O-ring at the end of the fitting.
