Frost Resistant 4SH Hoses
Dunlop Hiflex Superforest 4SH hoses are designed for use in sub-zero temperatures where conventional high-pressure hoses cannot operate. The maximum temperature threshold of this type of hoses is -55 °C, which is 15 degrees higher than that of a conventional Hose.
The 4SH hoses in this section are made to the same EN 856 standard, the only difference would be the resistance to sub-zero temperatures. If your equipment operates in freezing conditions for most of the year, we recommend using only 4SH hoses without changing them during the summer.
Testing 4SH hoses
The 4SH high pressure hoses have four layers of rubber and metal braiding. Each of the layers is overlapped sequentially, thus achieving the strength properties of the hydraulic hose.
Any of the frost resistant hoses are tested for frost resistance. The test is carried out at the manufacturer's factory. The hose is placed in a freezing chamber for several hours, after which the hose is bent. If in the process of bending the hose, clicks and cracks are heard - this indicates that the metal wire is cracked and the hose cannot be used at high sub-zero temperatures.
The 4SH Dunlop Hiflex Superforest hoses are a top quality product, a product that can withstand over 1,000,000,000 million pulses, and generally have a long life. These sleeves are as good as their competitors, Parker or Gates, in terms of technical and quality characteristics.
If you are looking for a high quality hose at a price lower than Parker high pressure hoses, we recommend you to look at Italian Dunlop Hiflex hoses.
